We make the shades and can advise you on sizing and related installation questions. (Site review and installation after purchase available for local clients, Chicagoland Region, on large orders).
Shades are mounted to a clean surface with a high strength industrial adhesive tape (The same stuff that keeps fins and trim on automobiles). We recommend using a short self tapping screw (included) to mount them into doors for long term security against the occasional kid who just can't resist pulling on the metal headers. If the surface is not clean and dry the adhesive will not work correctly (waxy polish or oily surfaces). The anchor plates have an adhesive backing and stick to clean dry surfaces below the window. (If there is a magnetic metal lower frame or door surface the shade's magnet will stick to that and the anchor plates are not necessary.)
